Global Immersions

First Year Immersion

The first Global Immersion’s destination is selected with an eye to awaken students’ business senses and whet their appetites for learning more about business distinctions across cultures. Students visit important enterprises, startups, and multinational organizations; tour factories; and speak with locals. They also have the opportunity to engage in a service learning project whereby they share their own skills, knowledge and culture with firms, executives, and students in the destination country.

Second Year Immersion

During the second Global Immersion, students will have a more focused learning experience as they better understand cross-cultural differences in business as well as how those differences affect the economic, social and political development of the destination country.

Each Global Immersion itinerary includes:

  • Activities like dancing, shopping, and visiting museums and essential historical landmarks to engage with local custom and culture
  • Networking opportunities with entrepreneurs and business leaders from local companies, firms, multinationals, startups and nonprofits
  • Local cuisine at some of the most delicious restaurants
  • Interactions with faculty and researchers from leading international universities and colleges
  • Tours of the host city with expert guides who can provide a true insider’s perspective

The great part of the Global Immersion was being able to explore Italy while visiting multiple companies and learning more about how they do business. I was able to experience a new culture, see new sights, meet new people and learn new things that I was able to incorporate into my work. I would definitely want to do another immersion in the future.

Going to Cuba allowed me to step outside my comfort zone and truly experience life through a different lens. The Global Immersion taught me a lot about the importance of perseverance and having a “never-give-up” attitude. I am extremely thankful to the Fox School of Business for the opportunity to take part in such a memorable experience.
