Assistant Professor Elizabeth “Liz” Brown, JD is an expert on alternative career options for lawyers and the author of the best-selling book, Life after Law: Finding Work You Love with the JD You Have. She is a frequent speaker and writer on career change whose advice has appeared in the Atlantic, Slate, Wall Street Journal, ABA Journal, Corporate Counsel, and New York Times. A former litigation partner, she is now an Assistant Professor of Business Law at Bentley University. Liz is also the former Executive Director in Boston of Golden Seeds, the largest source of angel funding for women entrepreneurs. She graduated with honors from Harvard College and Harvard Law School and has practiced law in San Francisco, London, and Boston, advising senior executives at Fortune 500 companies on legal strategies and managing multi-million dollar cases from inception to successful resolution.

Career opportunities in the US for cybersecurity professionals have never been better. Despite programs such as Temple University’s – Fox School of Business ITACS program, as well as, other Universities and the military training thousands of security practitioners, there still remains a significant shortage of cybersecurity and in all areas of the US and global economy.
Cybersecurity is the realm of the curious and practitioners come from a variety of backgrounds. As the Cybersecurity is critical to successful business operations – practitioners need not only technical skills but business skills as well.
This presentation will review the job market from the Chief Information Security Officer’s (CISO) perspective, as security leaders need to look for and fill a growing need for security talent. The presentation will review the size of the job market in the US and globally, as well as, speak to the specific skills needed to be successful in the profession.

Ed Ferrara is Cybersecurity and Information technology executive focused on aligning the needs of a global multinational corporation for safety and continuity of business operations through the effective application of cybersecurity controls. Mr. Ferrara has been a security practitioner for over 10 years. He focuses on the role cybersecurity plays in the viability of the commercial enterprise. Primary focus is on the identification and implementation of a strong information security posture with a focus on the appropriate use of cyber security technology mapped to an effective defense.
Mr. Ferrara’s areas of expertise include: Cyber Security Strategy and Metrics, Cyber Threat Intelligence, Computer Forensics, Cyber Security Policy, Business Continuity Planning, Compliance. Organizational Change, Business Process Engineering, and Requirements Management.
Mr. Ferrara is currently the Chief Information Security Officer of CSL Behring. CSL Behring is global multi-billion dollar a biopharmaceutical company, manufacturing plasma-derived and recombinant therapeutic products. Its line of therapies includes products for the treatment of bleeding disorders such as hemophilia and von Willebrand Disease; primary immune deficiencies; hereditary angioedema; inherited respiratory disease; and neurological disorders in certain markets. The company’s products are also used in cardiac surgery, organ transplantation, burn treatment and to prevent hemolytic diseases in the newborn.
Mr. Ferrara holds a bachelor’s degree from Franklin and Marshall College, and holds two Master’s degrees, one from the University of Delaware, and one from Norwich University. He teaches in Temple University’s ITACs program as an Adjunct Professor.Register Online
