School moves back into the AACSB’s regular, five-year review cycle

PHILADELPHIA, April 22, 2020 — AACSB International has announced it has extended its accreditation of Temple University’s Fox School of Business through 2025.

Accreditation by AACSB—the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business—is the highest standard of achievement in business education. Just 5% of the world’s bachelor-level degree programs earn the distinction.

The Fox School has been continuously accredited by AACSB International since 1934.

“This positive news is welcome during what’s been an especially uncertain time. Our faculty and staff members have had to manage many changes and challenges. But they’ve all stepped up to adapt to and conquer those challenges,” says Ron Anderson, dean of the Fox School. “I’ve never been more impressed with the resiliency of the Fox School, its students, alumni, faculty and staff. The extension of our AACSB accreditation only reaffirms that point.”

AACSB-accredited schools must demonstrate continuous improvement in all programs in order to maintain accreditation. As part of the review process, AACSB accreditors visit schools every five years to assess academic standards; the professional and research expertise of faculty members; and the quality of academic and career advising offered to students. The AACSB also surveys companies that hire graduates in an effort to see how prepared they were for their careers.

“Over a period of 18 months, AACSB conducted two special visits, overseen by the chief accreditation officer and a current and former board member, and a comprehensive peer review visit. These visits in totality encompassed meetings across the campus, with the president and provost, faculty, students, administration and others,” said Stephanie M. Bryant, executive vice president and chief accreditation officer of AACSB.
