Xinying Fu joined the Ph.D. program in Accounting at the Fox School of Business in Fall 2026. She holds an Master in Accountancy with a concentration in Data Analytics and an Masrer in Business Analytics with a concentration in Information Technology, both from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, as well as a Bachelor of Accounting from Xiamen University. Her research interests center on capital markets and corporate disclosure, with particular interests in corporate investment, sustainability, and corporate governance. She is also interested in applying textual analysis, machine learning, and generative AI to accounting research. Before joining Fox, she served as a research assistant at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and Harvard Business School, where she gained experience working with large-scale archival and textual data.
