Deceased July 11, 2010
Originally from Montana, Albert F. Zanger was a man on the move throughout his life. A certified public accountant who received his undergraduate degree at the Fox School of Business in 1947, Zanger spent much of his career with Price Waterhouse. He rose to Senior Partner in charge of business in Central America, and was an active philanthropist in Philadelphia.
“Al”, as he was known, served on Temple’s Board of Trustees, and was passionate about connecting more people to art, as a major donor to the Philadelphia Museum of Art. In 1978, Zanger moved to Miami. Interested in a world beyond numbers, Zanger felt it was important to establish hobbies. He played the accordion, enjoyed bridge and golf, and was an avid traveler. At Temple University, Zanger created the Albert F. and Rosalyn M. Zanger Scholarship Fund with his late wife, which is awarded to a Fox student with academic merit and financial need. The Zanger award gives preference to sophomores who plan to pursue an accounting career.
