Academic History

All domestic US transcripts need to be official. We will accept unofficial foreign transcripts until the first semester of matriculation when students need to provide official credentials indicating degree conferral. We prefer transcripts be provided via email to foxinfo@temple.edu. You may also send transcripts via USPS, FedEx, or UPS, or other mail delivery service to: Fox School of Business, 1801 Liacouras Walk, Alter Hall Suite 701, Philadelphia, PA 19122.

Unopened transcripts that are sent from higher education institutions directly to our admissions department via email or direct mail are considered official. Transcripts—regardless of format—that are opened by an applicant prior to being sent to Temple University are not considered official.

Yes. You will need to submit a separate transcript from every institution you attended where you completed six or more credits.

International Applicants

Yes. If academic records are not issued in English, official copies of native language records must be accompanied by a literal translation prepared by an appropriate university or government official. Approved translators can be found at the American Translators Association.

Although not required, you may choose to submit a photocopy of transcripts to the department or program to which you are applying to accelerate the admissions decision process. You may use services from a credential evaluation organization approved by Temple University—as identified by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services—and request that the evaluation be sent to the Graduate Admissions department.

An English proficiency language test such as the TOEFL, IELTS or Duolingo is required if:

  • You have not earned a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree from a U.S. institution
  • You earned a degree abroad from an institution for which the language of instruction was not English

GRE/GMAT Scores

Yes. We accept unofficial score reports during the application process. However, if you are admitted into the program, we will need your official scores sent to the University directly from the testing service once you matriculate into the program.

GMAT/GRE test score requirements vary per program. Candidates who have earned an MD or PhD degree are automatically waived from the test requirement. Candidates with an undergraduate GPA below 3.0 are required to submit a test score. Please speak with an admissions representative to learn more.

Work History

A professional resume or CV should be uploaded regardless of full-time work experience. If you do not have work experience, please upload a resume highlighting your academic achievements.

Recommendations

We encourage you to request letters of recommendation from faculty and/or employers who can write about your ability to succeed in graduate study. For applicants to MBA programs, letters of recommendations from your employer/supervisor or previous employer/supervisor are preferred. If you are self-employed, letters may come from long-time clients.

If your recommender is having difficulty uploading their letter to the application portal, they can email their letter to foxinfo@temple.edu.

You may edit or change your recommenders at any point during the application process, even after you have submitted your application. Our application portal also allows you to resend the recommendation invitation if needed. Note: We encourage you to check on the status of your recommendations via the recommendation section regularly.

Essays

Essay 1 is required. This essay gives you the opportunity to share your educational and professional goals—and how our program will help you achieve those goals—with the Admissions Committee. Some programs may have an essay question specific to the field of study. Essay 2 is optional. You may use this optional essay to present additional information to the admissions committee. We recommend providing Essay 2 to address specific circumstances regarding your application, such as an undergraduate GPA below 3.0.

No, however, we prefer essays to be 500 – 750 words.
