Open Faculty Positions

The Department of Statistical Science seeks tenured/tenure track scholars at all ranks to contribute to the environment of collaborative and multi-disciplinary research of the Fox School of Business at Temple University. Qualified candidates must hold a Ph.D. or foreign equivalent in Statistics or a related field before September 1, 2020, and have the potential for excellence in scholarship, teaching, and doctoral student supervision including the demonstrated ability to conduct high-quality research and publish in top-tier journals. The department encourages applications from candidates in any field within statistics or in any cross-disciplinary area where innovative use of statistics is of critical importance. We seek internationally renowned scholars with excellent track records in research, teaching, grant funding and dissertation advising. Candidates are expected to maintain an active and rigorous research program in statistics. Researchers in all areas of Statistics are encouraged to apply by January 31, 2020. Later applications will be accepted until the position is filled. Salary is highly competitive and commensurate with qualifications.

The department has 22 full-time faculty members, of whom 12 are tenured or tenure-track and 10 are non-tenure track. Many are Fellows of ASA, IMS, and other international societies. Publications by its faculty include articles in top tier academic journals and books through major publishers. Several of its faculty have ongoing research grants from federal agencies. It has a Center for Statistical Analysis which serves as an avenue for university-wide collaboration and as a means to advance the department’s research, education and training missions, and a center for High-Dimensional Statistics, one of the core research units of the Fox Big Data Institute with the goal of engaging the shared research interests and expertise of the faculty to create an integrated and more vibrant place for research in a field of modern importance. The Department has undergraduate major in Statistical Science and Data Analytics and comprehensive Ph.D. and M.S. programs in Statistics..
