Department/Center:

There is a growing need for social service agencies to be able to quantify and evaluate the success of their programs to secure limited public and grant funding.

Najja Orr has developed a four-step blueprint for social impact evaluation to help these agencies clearly measure and demonstrate the overall contributions their programs are making to society.

Orr’s blueprint starts with identifying long term goals, then moves on to connect program activities and outcomes to quantify value created for stakeholders and calculate social return on investment.

Successful use of the blueprint engages a diverse stakeholder group for deeper introspection, as well as consideration of funders’ expectations to ensure appropriate program targets are being met.
