Carla Jackie Sampson joins the Fox School on a non-tenure-track appointment within the Department of Risk, Insurance and Healthcare Management. She also will serve as Associate Director of Fox’s Healthcare Management Programs.
She arrives following the completion of her doctoral studies in Public Affairs-Health Services Management and Research at the University of Central Florida. She will defend her dissertation this fall. Her research interests include healthcare workforce policy, social determinants of population health, and anchor mission strategy development.
Previously, Sampson served as the Vice President of CAHME. Her role at CAHME was to assure quality preparation of future healthcare leaders through the management of the accreditation activities. Prior to this, Sampson served in management positions for 14 years in financial services both in her native country of Trinidad and Tobago and in New York City.
She earned an MBA in Healthcare Management and a Master of Science degree in Healthcare Financial Management from the Fox School and was the inaugural Charles P. Hall Scholar. She is board certified in healthcare management since 2011.
