Numerous recent business closures have emphasized the need to better understand how small businesses can remain adaptable and successful amidst the COVID-19 pandemic .
To support the ongoing growth of small businesses, Munir Mandviwalla and Richard Flanagan investigated how the process of digitalization transformed small businesses impacted by the pandemic.

Policymakers should think of creative ways to support digitalization efforts, such as by involving local universities. For example, Temple University’s Institute for Business Information Technology, has helped the digitalization of small businesses by offering free digital services.
