2024 FSBAA Board Elections

Please note the following:

  • Only Fox alumni are eligible to vote, and only one ballot can be submitted per voter. If multiple ballots are submitted by one voter, only the earliest timestamped submission will be counted.
  • Your vote will not be made public, but we must require a full name in order to verify the alumni status of all voters.
  • Voters can select up to 5 candidates.
  • Voters are electing Directors-at-Large to a 3-year term of service. Director-at-Large responsibilities can be viewed here.
Adesola K. Adegbesan, BBA `15

Outside of Temple, she represents PECO Energy Company as an Assistant General Counsel representing the company’s interests before state and federal regulatory agencies to accomplish PECO’s business objectives. Before joining PECO, she worked as an attorney at Greenberg Traurig, LLP, in Philadelphia, where she focused her practice on managing litigation matters, including, but not limited to, contract and business disputes, labor and employment discrepancies, and lawsuits against medical device and healthcare manufacturers.

Mrs. Adegbesan graduated as a Legal Studies Major from Temple University’s Fox School of Business with a Bachelor of Business Administration, and earned her law degree from Widener University Delaware Law School, where she served as Superior Author on the Delaware Journal of Corporate Law – national recognition; a member of both the Moot Court Honor Society and Transactional Law Honor Society; a competing member on the Moe Levine Trial Team; and as President of the Black Law Students Association. In the community, Mrs. Adegbesan formerly served on the Executive Leadership Board of the Barristers’ Association of Philadelphia; currently serves as a member of The Legal Intelligencer’s Young Lawyers Editorial Board; and currently serves as a Director on the Board of Directors for the Arc of Middlesex County, New Jersey.

Barry Berkowitz, BBA `79

Another career goal was to become a partner in his firm, which Berkowitz was able to attain at the age of 30. Over the years, in addition to service to his clients, Berkowitz also took on roles of giving back to the public by serving on various non-profit boards. He served as treasurer and at-large board members for health and hospital-related boards and the board of his synagogue. He’s also served on boards related to client’s businesses or service industries.

In 2011, Berkowitz was nominated and confirmed by the state Senate and ultimately the Governor of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to serve on the State Board of Accountancy, which provides regulatory oversight to the 27,000 licensees in the state. This began his service to the accounting profession. Berkowitz served in that role for nine years, including two years as vice chair and two years as chair. This opportunity also served as a platform to take on a national role within the profession. Each state board of accountancy participates in a national role governed by the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA). Berkowitz was recently elected to a three-year at-large term on their board. He also served nine years on the Board of Examiners which oversees the CPA Exam, including two years as its chair. And in May 2023, Berkowitz was elected to serve on the profession’s Auditing Standards Board which governs the audits of non-public companies in the United States.

Mark Bill, EMBA `95

He is founder and president of The Bill Consulting Group, specialist in developing enterprise risk management programs for Morgan Stanley, Bank of America, Key Bank, Loan Depot, and PHH Mortgage. During his career, Bill has also created and administered a two-year management development program for seven mentees at GMAC. 
 
As a volunteer, he has served a number of organizations at various levels, including: President, Colonial School District Education Foundation; Treasurer, Veterans Community Network; Treasurer, Watermill Homeowners Association; President & Treasurer, Stony Creek Homeowners Association; President, VP and At-Large, Sunwood Farm Homeowners Association; VP, Bayclub Homeowners Association; Board Member, Dunmore Corporation.

Lauren Blevins, BBA `05

In this role, she is responsible for the integration and adoption of Effectv Media, advertising services, grant distribution, technology and education resources tied to the DE&I Customer Pillar.  This includes but is not limited to managing a team of seven specialists and working with counterparts in the larger Impact & Inclusion, Effectv and Comcast Business HQ teams to develop and measure KPI’s, understand issues, resource requirements and performance gaps in support of 13,500 small businesses nationwide.

Originally from New Jersey, Blevins relocated to the Philadelphia area to attend Temple University where she obtained her Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing.  She later received her Master of Business Administration from Amberton University.   An active member of The WICT Network – Greater Philadelphia Chapter since 2012, Blevins attended and volunteered at many events prior to joining the board in 2017 as Membership Director.  She has also held roles as Sponsorship Director, DE&I Director and in her latest role serves as Executive Programming Chair. Outside of The WICT Network, Blevins is an active Comcast ERG member, Chapter Leder of the Black Employee Network of Comcast Advertising, is on the National Advisory Council of Comcast’s Women’s Network ERG, serves on the board of The Wardrobe (formerly Career Wardrobe) and volunteers with the FSBAA Mentorship Committee, assisting with activities for the Global Student Mentorship Program.

Currently residing in Philadelphia, in her spare time Blevins enjoys reading, traveling and spending time with friends and family.

Kyle Carter, BBA `08

Carter came to NAMI Philadelphia from the Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual Disability Services (DBHIDS), and with more than a decade of service across community organizations throughout Philadelphia. He's held leadership positions at Fifty Shades of Purple Against Bullying and the Boys and Girls Club of Philadelphia, as well as having extensive experience at behavioral health organizations in the region. Carter holds a master's of education, with the completion of his doctorate of education (EdD) upcoming this year. He is also certified as a licensed behavior specialist (LBS) in Pennsylvania.

Rooted in Philadelphia, Carter grew up in North Philadelphia and attended college at Temple University, receiving his Bachelors in Business Law and Eastern University, receiving his Masters In Special Education. He has dedicated his career to serving those in his community and looks to continue to  drive the mission to help individuals and families whose lives have been affected by mental illness.

Mark Corley, MBA `12

Corley is a seasoned Finance Director, mainly in corporate finance & accounting global roles, steering and navigating businesses by partnering with business leaders to grow towards long-term sustainability within several companies. With over 16 years experience in finance and accounting for multi-billion dollar manufacturing companies in the housing and automotive industries, Corley knows what truly drives long-term sustainable growth and profitability in turning several subsidiaries in Thailand, France, Indonesia, China, India, Nigeria, Japan, Korea, and Bangladesh.

Mark Corley has worked at several multinational group companies in Asia, including LIXIL (American Standard, Grohe), akebono Brake, and Mahle Asia in regional CFO and global Controller roles. His experience includes: implementing ERP systems four times, as well as leading acquisition efforts of 4 companies of over 2B USD, as well as securing over 5M USD in funding from USAID and federal government agencies for ESG activities. His experience also includes expert knowledge of IFRS, US-GAAP, J-GAAP, CMA, and USCPA. In addition to his extensive financial and cost accounting experience,he is bilingual in Japanese and English and has experience leading HR, IT, Purchasing, and Legal departments within Japan and all across Asia. 

In his free time, he enjoys participating in Temple University Japan Alumni events, organizing USC Japan Alumni events, serving on Choate Rosemary Hall Japan Alumni Leadership team, community service with Kashiwanoha Elementary School PTA, volunteering with Japan Red Cross, as well as faith based volunteer travel and activities in Ghana and Mexico. His hobbies include SQL coding, AI, app development, and historical semitic linguistics. Corley holds a BA in psycholinguistics from the University of Southern California, and an Executive MBA in finance and accounting from Temple University Japan Campus, Fox School of Business.

Gennie DePass, MS `16

She is a double alumna of Temple University, having graduated from the Klein College of Media and Communication (’14) and Fox School of Business’ inaugural M.S., Digital Innovation in Marketing program (’16).  

In her current role, DePass uses her passion for storytelling to craft impactful messaging and engaging social media content that shines a spotlight on the KPMG experience and its professionals. Prior to KPMG, DePass provided communications and marketing support for several Philadelphia area non-profit organizations. She remains committed to volunteerism and serves as a dedicated volunteer at her local library, where she shares her love of reading with others. 

During her undergraduate years at Temple, DePass was a member of the women’s track and field team and is still an avid runner and completes several races a year – her favorite of course is Broad Street Run.  

Anthony DiJulio, MBA `12

DiJulio’s journey since graduating from Fox in 2012 has been marked by a steadfast commitment to excellence, both in professional endeavors and in his contributions to the Temple - Fox community. During his time at Fox, DiJulio was privileged to be recognized as a recipient of the Distinguished Scholar Award, an achievement that placed him in the top 5% of his graduating class. Additionally, he was honored to receive the Dean's Certificate of Excellence, which underscored his dedication to academic rigor and holistic engagement with the school.

Since graduating, DiJulio has leveraged the knowledge and skills acquired at Fox to advance his career within the pharmaceutical industry. With nearly two decades of professional experience spanning roles in business development, competitive intelligence, finance, marketing, research and development, and sales, he has cultivated a deep expertise in driving strategic growth and fostering innovation within highly competitive markets. Throughout his career journey, he has remained committed to giving back to the Temple - Fox community as a student mentor, providing guidance and support to emerging business leaders. DiJulio believes that investing in the next generation of talent is not only a responsibility but also a privilege, and is proud to contribute to the development of future Fox alumni.

Dr. Rashonda Harris, BBA `12, MBA `16

Her career has been marked by a steadfast dedication to excellence, making Harris an accomplished leader and an influential educator. 

At Johns Hopkins University, Harris has the privilege of sharing her knowledge and expertise with aspiring professionals as a faculty member in the master's program for Research Administration. Her commitment extends beyond teaching; Harris is deeply devoted to her alma mater, Temple University. Here, she has contributed as an advisor for the MBA capstone program and as a mentor for the Fox School of Business Alumni Association (FSBAA) and young alumni programs. Additionally, Harris has served as a Board Member for the Temple University Black Alumni Alliance (TUBAA), where she offered her time and donated funds to support events. 

Harris’ profound understanding of the field and passion for nurturing the next generation of leaders has established her as a revered figure in academic and professional communities. Through her leadership, educational endeavors, and philanthropy, Harris continues to shape the landscape of research administration.

John Hodge, MBA `07

His career started in IT, focusing on software implementations in private industry.  He started working for the city in 2014 as a project manager responsible for a $10 million capital IT project.  

Over the past several years, Hodge has been involved in various city-wide initiatives including the city’s COVID-19 Recovery Steering Committee (as the co-chair of the Financial Administration and Grants Working Group) and the Racial Equity Working Group. 

Hodge is a 2007 graduate of the Fox School of Business with an MBA in General and Strategic Management, after earning his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia.  He lives in Philadelphia and enjoys traveling and spending time with his family.

Rob Hornbuckle, MBA `20

He is responsible for all aspects of IT Operations, Security (physical, information, and government), DevSecOps, Facilities, Logistics, Procurement, Platform Delivery, Government property, and Compliance.  Prior to this, he served as the CISO for Allegiant Airlines, a leading ultra-low-cost airline in the United States. Interim CISO for United Technologies Aerospace Systems, a leading airplane parts manufacturer for both the private and government sectors as well as CISO for the Arby’s Restaurant Group, a leading international fast-food chain.  With over 20 years of experience, Hornbuckle also has experience in telecommunications, fintech, business to business, and health care sectors.  Multi-industry experience allows him to develop innovative solutions to complex business challenges, positioning him as a trusted adviser among senior leadership in many organizations. 

Hornbuckle holds an MBA from the Fox School of Business as well as an MS in Information Security, which is unique among technology experts.  He is passionate about aligning technology to business needs and leveraging technology for strategic advantage.  Hornbuckle is a sought-after consultant for startups, private equity, investment firms, and research institutions, and has also served on the board of advisors for several startup organizations.  A severe dyslexic himself, Hornbuckle speaks at events supporting students and parents of students that also experience this learning difference, and advocates for neurodiversity at all levels of business and governance. 

Lucrèce Ileleji, MBA `12

She was fortunate to have been surrounded by numbers and a  compassionate nature. This explains the essence of who she is today!  Ileleji's passion for nature has always been evident, starting with  flowers during her early years and continuing with her love for the  sea, as her grandfather was a sailor. 

Ileleji’s commitment to environmental sustainability and climate change couple with her background in science. The collaborations between engineers are what propel things  forward! During her time in Paris, Ileleji established an international collaboration that included a local content channel. This resulted in innovation,  capacity building, cost optimization, and growth across borders. Ileleji’s involvement in Egina FPSO (Floating Production Storage and offloading vessel capacity) development in Nigeria was crucial,  as it is the first and largest flagship project in the world. Her current activities involve participating in research and  development in the OECD, entrepreneurship, and teaching young  graduates in France. 

Ileleji is among the 45,000 volunteers who will be participating in the  2024 Olympics and Paralympics in France. Her father instilled the habit of volunteering and giving back as a service from a young age; therefore, Ileleji is contributing to her school. Resilience, leadership, and service are strengths she wishes to share with students and  alumni.

Sabrina Marshall, BBA `00

Marshall is best known for successfully launching new brands, developing and executing fully integrated marketing campaigns, strategizing customer journeys, and building top-notch customer experiences through data-driven consumer insights.

Marshall also has a passion for writing and creating content. She is the creator, writer, and producer of the hit drama TV show, Kingston House, which premiered nationwide on Television Jamaica (TVJ) in 2012. Subsequently, she’s written two children’s books Tunda on The Rock and Onyx and The Blue Mountain Mistery, about the adventures of Jamaican puppies Tunda & Onyx, for which an animated series is in the works. Born to Jamaican parents, Marshall has always had a strong passion for Jamaican culture, and, most importantly, sharing it with the world. She writes to offer enjoyment to individuals across diverse backgrounds, while offering a platform for the education of middle-grade students by giving a strong voice to under-represented leads, achieved through smart content and valuable lessons that can be applied to real lives. 

Marshall was born and raised in NY and currently resides in Los Angeles, CA. After spending three days in LA for the first time in 2018 to be a contestant on Family Feud, she knew that it would be her new home. Six months later she quit her job, sold her condo, and relocated from New York to California – and hasn’t looked back since. 

Tava Odom, BBA `21

Odom co-founded Philly Kids Task Force, an organization established in 2018 to address the critical needs of underserved youth in the Greater Philadelphia Area. Committed to providing educational support, fostering community engagement, and raising awareness, initiatives include innovative programs such as active shooter awareness training and annual back-to-school drives, ensuring every child has access to essential resources for academic success.

Before this, Odom honed her leadership and operational skills as an Operations Manager at Dress Barn where she supervised a team, managed day-to-day operations, and implemented comprehensive training programs. Armed with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Human Resources Management from Temple University, Odom has actively contributed to various student organizations, fostering financial literacy, professional development, and community service initiatives. Through roles in organizations like NABA and SHRM, she has worked tirelessly to empower individuals and create meaningful impact in our community.

Anthony Petrole, BBA `20

After graduation he worked at Susquehanna International Group, a global quantitative trading firm in Bala Cynwyd. He was selected to be in the firm’s Operations Analyst Rotational Program. This program provided exposure to various security instruments, while also developing his computer programming skills across multiple languages. He then moved into the accounting department, where he was able to leverage his knowledge to streamline both regulatory and financial reporting. 
 
He currently works at PPL Corporation as a financial analyst within the department of financial planning & analysis. In this role, he presents monthly financial reports to key leadership personnel from the Pennsylvania line of business. He supports the electric distribution & transmission departments along with corporate departments like risk management and accounting. During severe weather events, Petrole holds additional responsibilities as an outage management analyst. His team coordinates regional customer restoration efforts. He also oversees a variety of crews including damage assessors, electricians, and troubleman line crews.

Outside of work, Petrole serves as the Vice President of the Fox School's Young Accounting Alumni Group. Here, he previously served as president and has managed the group's mentorship program for the last 3 years. He is a volunteer committee member for FSBAA’s mentorship committee where he assists and participates in the mentorship program.

Greg Pronko, BBA `85

He is a current member of the Philadelphia Local Screen Actors Guild Board,  a film/podcast actor, writer, producer, licensed PA realtor and has produced an eight figure multi-million dollar investment organization. 

Pronko has a unique acumen and skillset of athletics, entertainment and business entrepreneurship which really resonates with the youth of today. His mentorship with youth includes speaking at local grade schools, sports camps and colleges; volunteering for United Way, Special Olympics, Read Across America, local food drives and fundraising. 

This is his time to give back to the communities and organizations that have greatly influenced his success. To show a path of numerous achievements that are very attainable to anyone willing to put forth the effort. To manifest how Temple University can have an immeasurable impact on this success.

 

Heather Qader MBA `16

 With experience in the private, nonprofit and government sectors, Qader helps individuals and brands expand through strategy, operations planning and development of key partnerships. She is well-versed in corporate retail, consumer packaged goods, investment sourcing, brand marketing, and social media. Qader is on a mission to help impact and grow businesses around the world.

An undergraduate of The Pennsylvania State University, Heather Qader received her MBA in Strategic Management from the Fox School of Business at Temple University. Upon graduating, she started an imports business with one of her classmates, Kerry Slade. Qader then went on to work for the City of Philadelphia focusing on tech and innovation. She then served Todd Carmichael, CEO of La Colombe, as his Chief of Staff before she launched her own business. 

Qader has been closely involved with Temple University through her involvement with the New Ventures Internship Program and participating on panels. First, she was a student of the New Ventures Internship Program, then, after she started her business, she utilized a handful of interns from the program, then was asked to take over the class as an adjunct professor. All throughout her undergraduate and graduate experience, Qader has taken on leadership roles. She credits them for her ability to lead now and looks forward to running for Director-at-Large seat with FSBAA. 

 

Jeff Rowan, MBA `22

Rowan is originally from a small town in rural Kansas, but has called Indianapolis his home since 2012.  Over the course of the last twenty-four years, he has worked in several capacities all centering around the SAP software landscape. In 2020, Rowan entered the Fox School of Business Online MBA program at Temple University. While enrolled, he participated as a council member for the Fox Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Graduate Student Professional Organization (DE&I SPO). Not being native to Philadelphia, he was able to take learnings from the DE&I SPO back to the corporate environment in Indianapolis and connect with other companies, while helping to spearhead Delta’s DE&I program as the lead of the Indy Pride partnership.  Rowan completed his MBA in 2022 focusing on strategy and innovation.

Jeff Rowan lives in Indianapolis with his wife Meredith and their five dogs – Carlee, Cookie, Gidget, Rudy and Zoey.

James Seth Thompson, BBA `98

In this role, Thompson empowers multicultural investors to change the trajectory of their wealth, impact and influence and encourages a fresh perspective on equity, advocacy, responsibility and investing. His equitable approach to addressing the unique needs of multicultural investors best informs deep discovery to truly define how their resources contribute to their legacy. Access, exposure, experience and education matters, and these levers influence how Thompson helps clients create systemic wealth and close the gap between opportunities and outcomes. 

Thompson also holds several distinct leadership roles championing diversity, equity, inclusion, recruiting and professional advancement of diverse talent across the firm. He has a BA in marketing and a BA in human resources administration from Temple University. He serves as Treasurer for Dignity Housing for the Homeless and Race, Equity and Empowerment Chair for Philadelphia Youth Basketball. Thompson is the recipient of many awards and recently Thurgood Marshall College Fund’s HBCU Partner in Diversity Award and InvestmentNews’ See It Be It Role Model acknowledging his contribution to diversity, equity and inclusion in the industry.

John Toner, MBA `18

His responsibilities include leading the Delaware County and Philadelphia commercial lending team as well as managing commercial relationships for the bank.  John has a Bachelors in Physical Education from Florida State University and received his MBA from Temple University(EMBA).  

John currently sits on the board of Fort Mifflin.  In his spare time John is a dedicated Peloton rider and youth sports coach in addition to prioritizing time with his family, including his wife Melanie, son Finnegan, and daughter Charleigh.
