History

The Fox School of Business Alumni Association (FSBAA) engages and supports future and current alumni in a lifelong relationship with the Fox School. Reconstituted in 2001 to include an alumni advisory board, it is a self-sustaining organization that brings graduates together for a wide range of networking and social events, and to help further the mission and goals of the Fox School.

We have an entrepreneurial spirit that promotes alumni development and encourages new ideas that add value to all members. We are a hard-working organization that’s constantly evolving by welcoming new members to the board from our richly diverse alumni population. The FSBAA is open to all members, and we encourage every alumni member to run for board positions and pursue an active role on committees. Members are committed to achieving the group’s vision and many friendships have been built through their service.

We achieve our goals because we plan strategically, are accountable for our contributions, and are dedicated to the success of our members. We have a passion to succeed together and are committed to being a progressive organization that welcomes diverse points of view.

James Sanders

President

James Sanders is an experienced executive with expertise in the areas of banking & finance, wealth management, and consulting management. In addition to his professional success, James has used his skills to give back to Fox School of Business through the EMBA Alumni group, Fox Management Consulting and now Fox School of Business Alumni Association.

James is currently Vice President of Commercial & Industrial Lending at Customers Bank; previously he was Vice President of Government Guaranteed Lending and Commercial Loan Officer at Cape Bank. Prior to Cape Bank, James served as Director with The Enterprise Center a regional economic development organization and operator of the U.S. Department of Commerce, Minority Business Development Agency Business Center in Philadelphia, Pa (MBDA). He provided management consulting and advised over 1,000 minority-owned businesses. Those firms have secured over $300 million on contracts and $65 million in financing. Preceding MBDA, James worked for over 8 years in the financial services industry with industry leaders, such as The Vanguard Group and Wachovia Bank (know Wells Fargo).  Mr. Sanders holds a B.S. Economics and Finance from Virginia State University and an Executive MBA from Temple University, Fox School of Business. James is married with 2 kids and a dog.


Renee Pacini

Renee Pacini is the Director of Product Marketing at Campus Management. Renee has served global higher education for over 30 years, including working with SCT/SunGard Higher Education/Ellucian and TargetX where she held leadership roles in product management, product strategy, client services, and marketing.

She earned a B.S. in Special Education, MSA in Training & Development from West Chester University, and an Executive MBA from the Fox School of Business at Temple University. She serves as the Vice President on the Fox School of Business Alumni Advisory Board. She resides in suburban Philadelphia with her husband and college-age sons, with whom she enjoys training in the martial arts and participating in community service work.


Jeff Bruno

Jeff Bruno is the Founder & CEO of Your Outsourced CFO. The modern CFO is even more critical to manage the intersection of financial strategic planning and growth milestones for a small to medium-sized business. Jeff’s first-hand experiences as a leading figure in a multi-million-dollar acquisition of a two-store furniture dealer network in NYC in 2010, as the Finance & Business Development Manager for two smaller companies, and as a Financial Advisor at Wells Fargo have helped to give Jeff a clear understanding of how to manage people’s expectations and many of the financial and operational hoops that small businesses must jump through to achieve growth in their competitive markets.

Jeff’s continued support of many industry-diverse clients as founder of Your Outsourced CFO renders him as a leading expert in the field of small business management. Jeff brings not only impressive credentials, but a working knowledge of the intricacies of the small business world, helping to drive financial creativity, planning, empowerment, and proactive process management to the small to medium-sized business market.

Jeff holds a Bachelor’s Degree from The George Washington University and a Master’s Degree in International Business Administration from the Fox School of Business at Temple University.


Ellen Marshall

Ellen Marshall is an Organization and Program Management Leader whose experience is punctuated with increasing and diverse accomplishments in health care policy, professional education, and health and social service programming.

Ms. Marshall was Managing Director of the Psychoanalytic Center of Philadelphia (PCOP), a training center for psychoanalysts and psychodynamic psychotherapists, where she led continuing education and strategic planning. As Vice President for Programs and Health Policy for the Arthritis Foundation, Eastern PA Chapter, Ms. Marshall revitalized and directed the Chapter’s continuing education programs for health care professionals and administered the Chapter’s medical advisory and patient services committees.

Ms. Marshall was also a Program Manager with Public Private Ventures (PPV), where she oversaw the implementation of the nationally renowned, Nurse-Family Partnership (NFP), a nurse home visitation program for low-income, first-time mothers, in seven counties in Pennsylvania. Ms. Marshall began her career in health policy as a Policy Analyst, and later Acting Director, in the Scientific Policy Department of the American College of Physicians. Medical ethics policy she helped develop was adopted by the AMA and World Medical Association.

Ms. Marshall holds a MBA from Temple University Fox School of Business and an AB in Biology from Bryn Mawr College.


Bob Zipperlen

Bob Zipperlen was born in Philadelphia and raised in Bucks County. Bob majored in Accounting at Temple University, and attended classes at Ambler Campus as well as Main Campus. He interned at Reliance Standard Life Insurance Company and Laventhol & Horwath during two spring semesters, obtaining a position at the latter upon graduation. Bob graduated cum laude with a BBA in May 1984.

After obtaining his CPA license, Bob left public accounting to pursue a career path in private industry. He worked 6 years in London and returned to the Philadelphia area to become a Chief Financial Officer. After four years as CFO for The Renfrew Center, Bob is now CFO and VP of Administration for the National Disease Research Interchange in Philadelphia. He joined FSBAA to give back to Temple University, as his daughter is a 4th generation Temple student.


Meredith Okenquist

Meredith Okenquist is a 2001 graduate of the Fox School of Business part-time MBA program. Meredith has had more than 20 years of corporate experience. Meredith’s last role was in talent acquisition management with Careers On the Move, a boutique recruitment firm based in Manhattan, where she worked in the Financial Services and Information Technology sectors. Meredith has a strong specialization in Financial and Risk Management, Market Data, Energy, Technology, Legal Services, Sales and Valuation Recruitment. Clients included top-tier investment banks, hedge funds, asset management firms, Big 4 and other large and small accounting firms, valuation companies, professional services organizations, non-profit entities, consumer product and technology providers. Meredith’s working credentials also include positions with SAP America, NovaCare, the Alzheimer’s Association and HCR ManorCare. Meredith and her husband Michael, also a graduate of the Fox School of Business part-time MBA program, reside in Blue Bell, PA with their two children Madeline and Noah.


Amber Wynne

Amber is the Global Head of Diversity & Inclusion at Qurate Retail Group, which includes QVC, HSN, Zulily, and Cornerstone Brands. Amber attended the Fox School of Business for her undergraduate degree, and earned an MBA from Drexel University. She is a Cornell Certified Diversity Professional (CCDP).

Michael Johnson has a breadth of experience in the areas of strategic management and financial analysis. As the Director of Finance and Administration at Philadelphia Futures, Michael is responsible for the overall financial management of the organization while also overseeing administrative and general operational needs. Before joining Philadelphia Futures, Michael was with Frontline Solutions, a social-sector management consultancy. Michael was also the Operations Manager for Circle of Hope, a network of churches in Philadelphia. Prior to that, he worked in the capital markets, as a fixed income trader for Janney Montgomery Scott. Michael holds a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from Temple University and an MBA from the Fox School of Business and Management.


Sasha Buddle

Sasha K. Buddle holds B.B.A in Human Resources Management and Legal Studies (2016), as well as an M.S. degree in Human Resource Management (2019), from the Fox School of Business . Sasha is the Human Resource Systems Specialist at a leading gas and service supplier in the Greater Philadelphia Region. In addition to her work duties, Sasha also serves in the United States Army National Guard, is an active member of SHRM and a Notary in Pennsylvania.

Charity was born and raised in West Philadelphia, and has a passion for connecting people and helping others with their professional development. She is currently a Labor Relations Analyst in the Mayor’s Office of Labor Relations. Charity is a recent graduate of Temple University’s Fox School of Business, and former HR Assistant of Temple University Human Resources Department. While working at Temple, she assisted in planning Temple University’s 10th & 11th Annual Neighborhood Job Fair. She also coordinated the 1st Annual Prince of Peace Community Job Fair in partnership with Temple University in North Philadelphia. In addition, last June Charity founded the 1st Annual West Philly Community Job Fair.

As a student Charity worked at Temple Telefund for 4 years and was promoted to Program Center Supervisor. She contacted over 40,000 alumni, parents, and friends; and raised over $78,000 in monetary donations for Temple’s Annual Fund.

Giac is the Director of Client Services at SleepEx LabRetriever in Conshohocken. As a leader, he is able to gather information, synthesize it and develop action plans that lead to results. Giac holds a Bachelor’s degree in MIS from Northwood University and an MBA from Temple’s Fox School of Business. In addition to the FSBAA, he has served as treasurer for the EMBA alumni committee. Sidney Johnson

Sidney Johnson is an accounting executive with extensive leadership experience in providing companies with guidance in building accounting and financial structure. Based in Montgomery County, PA, Mr. Johnson is the Founder/President of NumbersByDesign, LLC consulting in that capacity, Mr. Johnson advises companies on strategies to build sound financial plans and scalable accounting structures for growth. Mr. Johnson holds a B.S. in Accounting with a minor in Finance from West Chester University and an Executive MBA from Temple University, Fox School of Business.
