The artist’s conception was to see the sculpture differently wherever one stands. Here the 96 banners or pennants can be seen at their mid-point, with a different nation represent on each side. The mechanical structures of the vertical strands encourage movement. The viewer is subjected to a continuous, random juxtaposition of the countries depicted on the pennants.
