Ms. Mitchell has been a Senior Business Consultant at the Temple Small Business Development Center where she provides guidance on starting and growing businesses. She coaches clients in the development of a business model, marketing strategies, operations and human resources strategies and strategic growth planning.  She has taught the ESWS course in entrepreneurial success skills

Although she has been involved in the development and growth of businesses in a variety of industries, her core competencies are the childcare, beauty salon, homecare and retail industries.

 For the past 25 years she has been an Adjunct Professor of Business at Delaware County Community College in Media, PA where she teaches a myriad of business courses

She has also been an adjunct instructor in management at Cabrini College in Wayne, PA

Varma Mitchell is founder and CEO of Mitchell HR Consulting Associates in Wallingford, PA where she has established a successful HR consulting practice providing services to large and mid-sized corporations in the Delaware Valley. 

She has been a presenter at the annual workshops on Workplace Flexibility sponsored by the Department of Labor, Women’s division; the Latina Business Series, the National Contract Management Association (NCMA) conferences, the Power-Up Program of the Philadelphia Community College and various local organizations’ meetings `

Ms. Mitchell holds an M.B.A. degree and a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resource Management from Texas Southern University in Houston, TX and Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, NY. She has also done post-graduate studies at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX.

She has been a member of the Greater Valley Forge Human Resource Association,  She is the current president of the  Media Area Branch  of the NAACP in Media, PA., and a member of Phi Delta Kappa National Sorority, XI Chapter
