At its core, Muktak Tripathi’s research interest lies in understanding the interdisciplinary role of managerial accounting. Specifically, he is interested in the interaction of accounting with finance, management information system, and operations research.
Muktak completed both his BBA in accounting and finance and master of accountancy at Temple University. During his graduate studies in accounting, he passed the Certified Public Accounting exam with an average score of 93.75 as well as the Certified Management Accounting exam. He pursued a master of science in investment management to advance his quantitative and technical skills. He passed all three levels of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) examination on his first attempt and also passed both examinations of Certified Base and Advanced Programmer in Statistical Analysis Software (SAS) during his graduate study in finance.
In order to prepare for academic research, Muktak enrolled in a BS in computer science at Oregon State University, and later enrolled in a MA in mathematics at Villanova University. He took theoretical and applied courses in mathematics as well as in statistics and was awarded a graduate certificate in applied statistics. During his STEM education, Muktak learned to apply statistical and operations research methodologies to analyze large datasets using algorithmic programming and tools such as C++, SQL, MATLAB, R, and Python.
