On June 3-5, 2016, Temple University will host the 6th annual Interdisciplinary Symposium on Decision Neuroscience (ISDN) in Philadelphia, PA.


Overview

This Symposium aims to bring together faculty and graduate students from multiple disciplines including neuroscience, marketing, information systems, accounting, management, psychology, economics, and other business disciplines to share research findings and to discuss how neuroscience can inform decision making in individuals, groups, society, organizations and markets.

The goals of the event include:

  • Creating an annual forum for exchange of research ideas
  • Facilitating inter-disciplinary collaborations and fostering the advancement of decision neuroscience
  • Creating opportunities for graduate students and junior faculty to interact with leading researchers in decision neuroscience

The Census Bureau, Bureau of Industry and Security, and port officers from U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) offer an engaging full day of learning. As of April 5, 2014, new export requirements were implemented that amend the regulations published in 2008. Census Bureau experts will cover these new regulations and filing requirements of the FTR, how to classify your commodities by providing an understanding of the Schedule B classification requirements, as well as provide a thorough overview of the AES. CBP experts will cover port requirements and efforts against terrorism and international narcotics trafficking. Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) officers will highlight export control requirements and how to identify red-flags.

The University of Bologna, University of Strathclyde, Temple University and Journal of Economics & Business are pleased to announce a conference on European Finance and Banking. The conference will be hosted by Bologna Business School, University of Bologna. Submissions are invited in all areas of finance and banking, with emphasis on corporate finance, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and banking. Empirical investigations focusing on any geographic region are welcomed. However, special consideration will be given to submissions that concentrate on European issues. Researchers from Central Banks involved in policy-related empirical work are also encouraged to submit. Selected papers will be published in a 2017 special issue of the Journal of Economics and Business.

Submission Procedure: Papers or detailed abstracts should be submitted to Journal of Economics & Business at http://www.journals.elsevier.com/journal-of-economics-and-business/. In the letter to the editors please indicate whether the paper is intended for the Conference and JEB special issue or for presentation only at the Conference.

The submission deadline is 15 May 2016. There is no submission fee. Decisions on accepted papers for the conference will be communicated to authors in early June 2016. Selected papers will be refereed for the JEB special issue after the conclusion of the Conference.
