High school and college students ‘talk trash’ in Fox Design Challenge for litter abatement

Gum. Plastic bags. Tipped over. People don’t want to touch trashcan handles.

Those were some of the dozens of observations about trash and litter in Philadelphia that were handwritten on colorful sticky notes hanging on the windows of the rooftop Hamilton Garden at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts.

First-ever Information Systems job index shows healthy market for college students

The study compiled data from more than 1,200 students and from 48 universities across the United States. Despite a 7.3 percent national unemployment rate, the job market is a healthy one for college students majoring in information systems, with nearly three quarters of students receiving at least one job offer, according to the nationwide IS Job Index by the Association for Information Systems (AIS) and Temple University’s Fox School of Business.… Continue Reading

Over a dozen faculty, PhD students present at Academy of International Business

The Fox School of Business will be well represented at the 2013 annual meeting of the Academy of International Business (AIB), with more than a dozen faculty and PhD students presenting research or leading panels at the five-day conference of the world’s leading association of international business scholars and specialists.

AstraZeneca VP Matt Pammer named IBIT Executive in Residence for 2013

Temple University’s Institute for Business and Information Technology (IBIT) has named AstraZeneca executive Matt Pammer, an alumnus with a proven record of commitment to the Fox School of Business, as its newest Executive in Residence.

Pammer, MBA ’02, is currently the vice president of information systems in North America for AstraZeneca. Marketing students rank among Top 10 in three categories in Fall 2012 global Capsim simulation

Marketing students in two sections of Adjunct Instructor George Foley’s Integrated Business Applications course have earned four spots in the Top 10 in seven categories in the Capsim business simulation, and Assistant Professor of Marketing and Supply Chain Management Alex Stein’s students ranked eighth in Round 8 Profits.

Fox School of Business announces $50,000 Big Data Grant Program

The Temple University Institute for Business and Information Technology (IBIT), based at the Fox School of Business, has announced a $50,000 Big Data Grant Program to fund ideas and applications for innovative research or curriculum projects by Temple faculty.
