Fox’s Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning (CITL) is hosting its fourth workshop of the Fall 2011 semester: Social Education and the Community Site.  Dr. David Schuff will be presenting on how the Community Site (community.mis.temple.edu) – developed by the top ranked Fox MIS Department – is currently being used to create an innovative, connected “social education” environment.  You will learn how social education integrates teaching and learning, professional development and  placement by combining social media concepts with current technological resources.  Several case studies will be discussed, as well as how any Temple faculty member can start using the Community Site in their courses.  11/30/11 in A606 from 12:00-12:50 – with lunch provided.  Please RSVP to mkunkle@temple.edu if you plan on attending.

Key Takeaways:

  • Learn how social education can transform teaching and learning.
  • Leverage social media concepts to increase student engagement.
  • Use the Community Site in your own courses.
