Dr. Richard Flanagan joins the Management Information Systems (MIS) Department full-time after working for nearly three decades with the global chemical company Rohm and Haas.
Dr. Flanagan worked primarily in the Information Technology area at Rohm and Haas. He worked as IT Director of e-Business, then became IT Director of Adhesives and Sealants Business and, most recently, served as IT Director of Business Relationships. As a senior member of Rohm and Haas’s global IT team, Dr. Flanagan improved the return on IT investments by changing the way the company allocated resources to foster tighter alignment with key business initiatives.
Additionally, Dr. Flanagan is a member of the Innovation Value Institute at the National University of Ireland, where he helps develop its IT Capability Maturity Framework. He led the research, development and engineering critical process team and participates in the relationship asset management team.
Dr. Flanagan has been an adjunct instructor at the Fox School. He received his bachelor’s degree from Lafayette College, his master’s degree from John Jay College and his PhD from Temple.
