Bonnie Averbach, Associate Professor of Risk, Insurance and Healthcare Management, has been with the Fox School of Business since 1981 and has served as the Program Coordinator and Director of the Actuarial Science Program since 1983.
A co-author of three books, Ms. Averbach has also contributed to a number of study manuals. She serves as an Associate of the Society of Actuaries and as the Education Chair of the Actuaries Club of Philadelphia, among many other professional and university leadership positions. She also has served as the Administrator of Actuarial Seminars for the Casualty Actuaries of the Mid-Atlantic Region.
Ms. Averbach won the Fox School’s Andrisani-Frank Outstanding Teacher Award in 1998, the school’s Musser Excellence in Leadership Award for Faculty Service in 2001 and a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2007. In 2009, the Fox School’s Actuarial Science Program was named one of 12 Centers of Actuarial Excellence by the Society of Actuaries, the industry’s largest professional organization.
