Mid-Atlantic Diamond
Ventures (MADV) is a business cultivator that identifies and provides
support to promising early-stage, technology-focused companies in the
Mid-Atlantic region (200-mile radius from Philadelphia). Launched
in June 2001, MADV encourages and assists entrepreneurs with innovative
ideas or commercially viable technology to start and grow their companies
into successful, sustainable, regionally based businesses. Mid-Atlantic Diamond Ventures was founded with two primary missions:
1) To foster the development of science and technology-driven businesses
toward pursuit and attainment of third-party investment funding; and 2)
To educate participants about the process of new venture development and
the key factors critical to long-term sustainability.
Mid-Atlantic Diamond Ventures is open to any early-stage, science and
technology-based, privately held company that has demonstrated proof of
concept and generated some level of revenue. However, participants
do not have to be self-sustained on sales revenue. Entry into
the MADV program is through business plan submission for review and critique.
Review sessions are held weekly at for coaching and mentoring of businesses
and management teams. Venture forums are held quarterly and
alternate between Delaware, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania venues.
