Powering Innovation, Empowering Entrepreneurs

About Us

Executive Director, Chris Pavlides, confers with the second winning team, STUZO.comThe Fox School of Business and Management's Innovation and Entrepreneurship Institute (IEI) proactively promotes entrepreneurial spirit throughout all 17 schools and colleges of Temple University.

IEI’s programs are ranked in the top 10 most comprehensive entrepreneurship programs in the nation by Princeton Review and Entrepreneur magazine (October 2007) and the only program in the Philadelphia region to be cited a top tier program by three separate ranking entities. The entrepreneurship program at the Fox School was ranked #8 in the country for undergraduate programs and #12 for graduate programs by Entrepreneur Magazine and the Princeton Review. The Fox School was ranked one of America's Best Colleges for entrepreneurship/entrepreneurial studies by U.S. News. The September 2007 issue of Fortune Small Business magazine listed the Fox School as one of the top 25 schools for undergraduate entrepreneurship programs.

Because entrepreneurship is such a multi-disciplinary, opportunistic and dynamic phenomenon, the IEI emphasizes integrated, applied, hands-on learning, bringing together students, entrepreneurs, mentors, alumni, faculty, and business advisors from diverse backgrounds to work on real-time projects. As the largest research university in this region, IEI’s future emphasis will be in science and technology.

Working in tandem with the Temple Small Business Development Center, the IEI's structured learning opportunities include the Temple University Council on Entrepreneurship, the two-phase Business Innovation Competition, the Global Entrepreneurship in Technology and the Enterprise Management Consulting Programs, The League for Entrepreneurial Women, Major Entrepreneurship Conferences, Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame, The Entrepreneurship Major/Minor, Mentor and Investor Networks, Internships, and the Innovation Lab.

The IEI's Innovation Lab provides a supportive work space for teams working on IEI projects and a home for the IEI's extensive network of mentors , business advisor partners, faculty, students and staff.
