Temple University only area university ranked in entrepreneurship in the U.S. by three different ranking entities
This fall, Temple University was the only area university ranked among top entrepreneurship programs for undergraduates in the United States by three separate ranking entities: Fortune Small Business magazine, Entrepreneur magazine with the Princeton Review, and U.S. News & World Report. Temple’s graduate entrepreneurship programs also ranked high.
Temple University was ranked eighth for undergraduate programs and 12th for graduate programs by Entrepreneur magazine and the Princeton Review following a survey of more than 900 schools across the United States.
Johnson & Johnson Funds Life Sciences Entrepreneurship Conference
The Philadelphia region is already recognized nationally as a hub of biotech firms, but Temple researchers and area entrepreneurs are seeking to expand the industry further. On May 6, executives from venture capital firms, state funding officials, angel investors (individuals and groups who provide capital to startups) and life science entrepreneurs will discuss funding initiatives for life science and biotechnology research.
The two-panel event is financed by a Johnson & Johnson grant, which was given to the Fox School of Business’ Innovation and Entrepreneurship Institute to advance life science entrepreneurship in the region. READ MORE ...
Social Conference Promotes "Green" Business
At Temple’s third annual Social Entrepreneurship Conference, organized by the student M.B.A. group Net Impact, environmental and social issues were shown to be not simply political talking points, but also a strong consideration in business practices and investments.
The conference, titled “Will ‘Green’ Investments Change the World?” dealt with the financial aspects of running a socially responsible corporation. Temple's Be Your Own Boss Bowl Awards Grand Prize to Brian Linton, College of Liberal Arts
On Wednesday, April 2, the finalists in the 2008 Be Your Own Boss Bowl, Temple's 10th annual business plan competition, presented their business plans to a distinguished panel of judges at the Student Activities Center. Competition aims to increase high school tech literacy, entrepreneurship
Temple is joining the City and School District of Philadelphia and state Sen. LeAnna M. Washington’s office in an effort to promote technology literacy and entrepreneurship among high school students through a business plan competition.
The competition, held in conjunction with the Preparing Tomorrow’s Innovative Leaders Technology Symposium, aims to provide students with a real-life experience that develops their ability to work in teams, communicate and present ideas in a formal setting. READ MORE ...
Temple University's Fox School of Business names Suite after Raza Bokhari
Physician-turned-entrepreneur Dr. Raza Bokhari, 39, started his “great adventure” 16 years ago when he came to the United States from Pakistan and took his first job at a start-up pathology lab in North Philadelphia.
