The Enterprise Management Consulting Practice serves client organizations, MBA students and business leader mentors through three programs:
- Capstone Consulting Practicums. These practical, service-oriented courses integrate and complete students’ MBA programs by providing carefully supervised and first-class strategic consulting to start-ups, nonprofits and large corporations.
- Implementation Internships. Since the most brilliant strategies are only as effective as their execution, the EMC provides access to carefully selected and coached interns to assist in the development and implementation of firm strategies while testing the fit for full-time positions.
- Master Consulting & Research Support. For especially sensitive and challenging strategic projects, the EMC matches faculty and faculty-student teams with top management teams.
CAPSTONE CONSULTING PRACTICUMS
Through their required, capstone consulting course, student teams help firms explore new business opportunities and integrate course work, business experience, and primary and secondary research into highly professional market entry strategies and business plans. Teams typically:
-
Conduct extensive market and industry research for their clients.
-
Make strategic recommendations and prepare a market entry strategy, business case, and re-positioning analysis, grant application or business plan, as appropriate.
-
Develop detailed implementation plans and financial models for the recommended strategy.
-
Present detailed results to the client and potential investors, as appropriate.
-
Make introductions to key industry experts and potential customers.
MBA teams are hand picked from the Fox School’s MBA programs. Each team is selected to include the appropriate combination of coursework (strategy, marketing and finance), skills and business experience. The teams are carefully supervised by experienced clinical faculty and mentored by prominent advisors.
Project start dates and durations vary. Please see schedule and fees for more details.
IMPLEMENTATION INTERNS
Implementation Interns begin where the consulting practicums end by providing hands-on support for the execution of strategic initiatives. EMC’s experienced clinical faculty work with clients to select appropriate MBA students and recent graduates and, if requested, to provide coaching for the interns throughout the project period.
EMC Implementation Interns have conducted detailed competitive and customer research, developed business plans for start-ups, developed detailed financial models, participated in due diligence for investment firms, written grants for nonprofits, researched and written white papers for sales purposes, developed sales leads for large corporations, conducted market studies for unions, and served as COOs for new firms. Faculty advisors have supported the students in each of these endeavors, providing everything from informal coaching to formal project management, as requested by clients and interns.
The timing of and fees for internships are negotiable. Please see schedule and fees for more details.
MASTER CONSULTING & RESEARCH SUPPORT
Faculty and faculty-student teams are available to conduct high-level, confidential, customized research and consulting projects for clients. To date, projects have included new product development, strategic planning, executive training, and policy research.
The timing of and fees for master consulting and research support are negotiable. Please see schedule and fees for more details
