Dr. Samuel D. Hodge Jr.

Samuel D. Hodge, Jr., is a Professor and Chair of the Legal Studies Department at Temple University. He graduated from Temple University School of Law in 1974, and is a 1979 Alumni of the Graduate Studies Division of Temple Law School. He also serves as the Fox School of Business and Management's Director for the Center for Innovations in Teaching and Learning. Professor Hodge has been awarded a number of teaching honors including the Temple University Great Teacher Award, and he has been designated a Master Teacher by the American Academy of Legal Studies. His research focuses on medicine and he has published over 60 articles on the medical/legal aspects of personal injury claims including "Defending the Back Injury Case" for The Practice Litigator, "Diagnostic Tools" for The Brief , and "A Proper Analysis of a Hospital Chart Can Reveal Valuable Investigation and Medical Information" for The Insurance Counsel Journal. He is a frequent speaker on medical, legal and educational topics, and texts include: (1) The Medical Aspects of Personal Injury Litigation by John Wiley Law Publications, and (2) The Legal Environment of The New Millennium by McGraw- Hill Publishing Company. Professor Hodge has also authored chapters in several litigation textbooks on how to examine and cross-examine the medical expert, and has written multiple supplements to a number of texts on personal litigation issues.
