Roland Lipka joined the faculty in 1983. He previously taught at Rutgers University and Old Dominion University. He earned an MBA (Accounting), MS (Statistics) and a Ph.D. (Economics) from Rutgers University. He holds a CPA certificate from New York State. Professor Lipka teaches managerial accounting, financial accounting and federal income taxation. His research includes the study of optimal retirement decisions, the impact of tax rules on bond markets, and issues in effects of accounting regulation on firm risk and share prices. His publications have appeared in The Journal of Accountancy, The Journal of the American Taxation Association, Accounting Horizons, The Journal of Business Finance and Accounting, and The Journal of Risk and Insurance.
