Dr. Paul Pavlou

Dr. Paul Pavlou has been appointed with Tenure as an Associate Professor of Management Information Systems. Dr. Pavlou received his PhD in Information Systems from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California. His research focuses on online auction marketplaces, electronic commerce, and information systems strategy. His research has appeared in MIS Quarterly, Information Systems Research, Journal of Management Information Systems, Journal of the Association of Information Systems, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, Communications of the ACM, and Decision Sciences. Dr. Pavlou has won many Best Paper Awards, including the ISR Best Paper Award in 2007, the 2006 IS Publication of the Year Award, the Top 5 Papers Award in Decision Sciences in 2006, the Best Doctoral Dissertation Award of the 2004 International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS), the Best Interactive Paper Award of the 2002 Academy of Management Conference, and the Best Student Paper Award of the 2001 Academy of Management Conference (OCIS Division). His work has frequently been cited. Paul also won several Best Reviewer Awards, including the 2003 MISQ ‘Reviewer of the Year’ Award, and the ‘Best Reviewer’ Award of the 2005 Academy of Management Conference. Dr. Pavlou serves on the Editorial Boards of MISQ, JAIS, IJEC, ECRA, and DATABASE, and was a guest Senior Editor of a Special Issue of JMIS. He is currently a guest Senior Editor of a Special Issue of MISQ. He is also a reviewer for many journals.
