Dr. Gary Witt has been appointed as an Assistant Professor (Practice) of Statistics with a secondary appointment in Finance. Dr. Witt received his PhD in Statistics from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. While obtaining his PhD, he was a lecturer at the Wharton, where he received the Murray Award for Teaching Excellence. Dr. Witt has over twenty years of experience in the financial industry, and spent ten of those years as a derivatives trader in both New York and London. Prior to joining the Fox School, Dr. Witt served as the Managing Director of Moody’s Investors Services, where he devised and published methodologies for various structured financial products.
