Entrepreneurship Minor
Program Description
Entrepreneurship Minor offered by Temple University ’s Fox School of Business and Management integrates entrepreneurship theory and practice in an interdisciplinary approach to develop an understanding of the creation and management of an entrepreneurial business. The entrepreneurship minor prepares students to start a business, be a productive member of an entrepreneurial business, assume responsibilities in a family business or become an effective manager in a growing business. Theory, cases and guest speakers are used to study innovation, idea generation, venture financing, financial analysis, market research, industry analysis and strategic planning. Entrepreneurship minors create an idea for a new business, assess its feasibility, and develop a business plan. Students intern with Temple University's Small Business Development Center , a startup business, entrepreneurial business, family owned business, or a high-growth business. Entrepreneurship minors are expected to be active members in the Entrepreneurial Student Association (ESA) -- an organization which offers students the opportunity to develop their skills, brainstorm with peers, build their network of business contacts, and learn from guest speakers.
Entrepreneurship Minor Course Requirements
- Fullfil the Business Minor course requirements
- Strategic Management 3501 - Entrepreneurship (prerequisite: Junior standing or above)
- Strategic Management 3503 or 3585- Internship in Entrepreneurship I (prerequisite: SGM 3501) (Application)
- Strategic Management 4596 - Advanced Entrepreneurship (prerequisite: SGM 3501)
