Entrepreneurship Major
Program Description
THE ENTREPRENEURSHIP MAJOR offered by Temple University’s Fox School of Business and Management, integrates entrepreneurship theory and practice in an interdisciplinary approach to develop an understanding of the creation and management of an entrepreneurial business. The entrepreneurship major prepares students to start a business, be a productive member of an entrepreneurial business, assume responsibilities in a family business or become an effective manager in a growing business. Theory, cases and guest speakers are used to study innovation, idea generation, venture financing, financial analysis, market research, industry analysis, and strategic planning. Entrepreneurship majors create an idea for a new business, assess its feasibility, and develop a business plan. Students gain hands-on experience through an internship experience. Entrepreneurship majors are required be active members in the Entrepreneurial Student Association (ESA) – an organization which offers students the opportunity to develop their skills, brainstorm with peers, build their network of business contact, and learn from guest speakers. Information about ESA can be found at www.temple.edu/ESA
