The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM)
Representing more than 170,000 individual members, the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) is the world’s largest association devoted to human resource management. SHRM serves the needs of HR professionals by providing the most essential and comprehensive set of resources available. As an influential voice, the organization is committed to advancing the human resource profession to ensure that HR is an essential and effective partner in developing and executing organizational strategy. Founded in 1948, the Society currently has more than 500 affiliated chapters within the U.S. and members in more than 120 countries.
Temple University has its own nationally recognized chapter of SHRM. We are one of the many Student Professional Organizations (SPOs) in the Fox School—and the only one dedicated to the world of HR and Workplace Management.
Temple SHRM has also won the Superior Merit Award from National SHRM for several years now and has also been recognized as one of the “Top 10 Chapters” by National SHRM.
Temple SHRM was chosen to receive the 2013-2014 Outstanding Chapter Award; only 21 chapters are recognized for this distinction out of 173 SHRM student chapters.
