Damaraju Raghavarao, PhD
Chair and Professor of Statistics
Author or co-author of five books and over one hundred articles, Damaraju Raghavarao enjoys a worldwide reputation for his work in the design of mathematical and scientific experiments. He is an elected Fellow of the American Statistical Association and the Institute of Mathematical Statistics, and a member of the International Statistical Institute. He has received Temple University’s Paul W. Eberman Research Award and The Fox Musser Award for Excellence in Research, and has been named to the Fox School’s Research Honor Roll. He has also served as a consultant to national firms and organizations.

Arvind V. Phatak, PhD

Executive Director, Temple CIBER/Institute for Global Management Studies
Arvind Phatak has published numerous articles and authored five books, including two widely used texts on international business. He was a Fulbright Senior Research Fellow, has taught at leading universities around the world, and has served as a consultant for Fortune 500 companies and government agencies. A highly respected mentor, he has directed more prize-winning doctoral dissertations in international business than any other professor in the U.S. He is a pioneer recipient of both the Temple University Great Teacher Award and the MBA Teacher of the Year Award, and was the 1998 recipient of the Musser Award for Excellence in Faculty Service.

J. Jay Choi, PhD
Professor of Finance and International Business
J. Jay Choi is an internationally renowned scholar who has taught at leading universities around the world, authored or edited more than half a dozen books, and published in top-tier journals. He is the editor of a research series, international finance editor of the Journal of Economics and Business, and an editorial board member of four other leading journals. He serves on the board of several professional organizations and is a president of the Korea-America Finance Association. He received the Musser Award for Excellence in Research in 1998.

M. Moshe Porat, PhD, CPCU

Professor of Risk Management and Insurance
M. Moshe Porat has published several monographs and numerous articles on captives, self-insurance, and other financial and risk management topics in leading academic and professional journals. His work has garnered several awards, including the 1994 RIMS Best Research Award. He is a former chair of the Department of Risk Management and Insurance and a past holder of the Joseph E. Boettner Chair in Risk Management and Insurance. He has served as an expert witness and consultant to the United Nations, to many governments, and to public and private organizations throughout the world. Outside of academia, he has served as a deputy general manager of Ihud Insurance Group and as a director and board member of several public companies and not-for-profit organizations. Dean Porat has received many awards, including in 1998, the Philadelphia Mayor’s Citation; in 2001, the “International Dean of the Year” by the Academy of International Business; and in 2002, the Adam Smith Leadership Award for Excellence and Educational Leadership Award for Academic Excellence and Educational Leadership by EconomicsPennsylvania.

Arvind Parkhe, PhD
Professor of General and Strategic Management
Arvind Parkhe joined the Fox School in 2003, following 14 years of successful research and teaching at Indiana University (Bloomington). His research interests include structuring and managing strategic alliances and global networks, and he has published in all of the top-tier journals in his field, including Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Strategic Management Journal, Journal of International Business Studies, and Organization Science. Professor Parkhe continues high-visibility service roles, including editorial board memberships of scholarly journals, and is a guest editor of a special issue of the Academy of Management Review. He has received numerous accolades for teaching excellence at the Ph.D., MBA, and undergraduate levels.
