Zoran Obradovic is a L.H. Carnell Professor of Data Analytics at Temple University, Professor in the Department of Computer and Information Sciences with a secondary appointment in Statistics, and is the Director of the Center for Data Analytics and Biomedical Informatics. He is the executive editor at the journal on Statistical Analysis and Data Mining, which is the official publication of the American Statistical Association and is an editorial board member at eleven journals. He is the chair at the SIAM Activity Group on Data Mining and Analytics for 2014 and 2015 years, was co-chair for 2013 and 2014 SIAM International Conference on Data Mining and was the program or track chair at many data mining and biomedical informatics conferences. His work is published in more than 300 articles and is cited more than 15,000 times (H-index 48). In year 2015 he become an elected member of Academia Europaea (the Academy of Europe).

Paul received his Ph.D. from the University of Southern California in 2004. Paul was ranked first in the world in publications in the two top MIS journals (MISQ and ISR) for 2010-2012. His work has been cited over 13,000 times by Google Scholar. Paul was recognized among the “World’s Most Influential Scientific Minds” by Thomson Reuters based on analysis of highly cited publications during the 2002-2012 period.

His research appeared in MIS Quarterly (MISQ), Information Systems Research (ISR), Journal of Marketing, Journal of Management Information Systems (JMIS), Journal of the Association of Information Systems (JAIS), Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science (JAMS), and Decision Sciences, among others. His research focuses on e-commerce strategy, digital business strategy, and development of research methods. Paul won several Best Paper awards for his research, including the ISR Best Paper award in 2007, the 2006 IS Publication of the Year award, the Top 5 Papers award in Decision Sciences in 2006, the Runner-Up to the Best Paper award of the 2005 Academy of Management Conference, the Best Doctoral Dissertation award of the 2004 International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS), the Best Interactive Paper award of the 2002 Academy of Management Conference, and the Best Student Paper award and Best Paper Award of the Academy of Management Conference (OCIS Division) in 2001 and 2012, respectively.

Paul also won several Reviewer awards, including the 2009 Management Science Meritorious service award, the ‘Best Reviewer’ award of the 2005 Academy of Management Conference, and the 2003 MISQ ‘Reviewer of the Year’ award. Paul is currently a Senior Editor at MISQ.

Steering Committee

Each Center Director (or appointed representative) also serves on the steering committee.  The steering committee oversees how the Institute meets its broader vision, mission and outcomes. It also oversees the tactical implementation of the institute’s activities. As such, the steering committee will:

  • Develop a business plan for the umbrella organization;
  • Benchmark and disseminate information related to the institute’s outputs;
  • Report financial activity to meet the goals outlined by the institute's business plan.

Advisory Board

An Advisory Board will provide this large and diverse group of researchers guidance to succeed in achieving their stated mission. The advisory board is comprised of individuals representing industry, government, and other Universities. This advisory Board meets annually to provide recommendation on issues varying from fund raising, to public relations, to program focus. Although their role does not have legal responsibility, it will provide advice important guidance to the administrative directors, researchers and other stakeholders of this initiative.
