What is IEI?
The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Institute (IEI) proactively promotes an entrepreneurial spirit throughout all 17 schools and colleges of Temple University. We emphasize integrated, applied, hands-on learning, bringing together students, entrepreneurs, mentors, alumni, faculty, staff, and business advisors from diverse backgrounds to work on real-time projects and new ventures.
#8 Undergraduate Entrepreneurship Program
#9 Graduate Entrepreneurship Program
Co-founder, REC Philly – Philadelphia’s Creative Incubator & Marketing Agency
I owe a ton of my early success to Temple University. The entrepreneurship program was my first glimpse into understanding what it takes to structure an idea into a tangible reality.
Founder, Rungh – Custom ‘make-your-own’ nail polish
Participating in the IEI’s Be Your Own Boss Bowl competition was one of my most memorable experiences. I would constantly reach out to my mentor for advice. I ultimately placed 2nd in the competition and received a $10,000 prize.
Founder of Repair U – Phone Repair for College Students
I have an obsession with improving. The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Institute and Temple’s Blackstone Launchpad feed that obsession by offering constructive feedback on every aspect of my business model.
Founder, Pound Cake – Cosmetic company complementing every skin tone and feature
Competing in IEI’s Innovative Idea Competition gave me the opportunity to perfect my pitch, improve my public speaking skills, and most importantly, network. Being prepared is part of what helped me win the Global Initiative Award!
Co-Founder, Ivory Ella – Online clothing store that supports Save the Elephants
Ivory Ella is a lifestyle brand that has experienced rapid growth. My journey has allowed me to fine tune my entrepreneurial skills, while bringing meaning to a brand that consumers can proudly support. In less than two years, Ivory Ella has donated over $1 million to Save the Elephants.
Founder, Myjé – Multilayered and aromatic hair products for women with curly hair
IEI has helped me through the entrepreneurial process by providing workshops and expert roundtables. I am always open to learning from people from different cultural backgrounds and industries. Their expertise can help fine tune your business concept.
