GMAT Waiver

The GMAT helps assess whether applicants have the quantitative, verbal, and analytical skills required to succeed in an MBA program.  But, the Fox School of Business recognizes that some applicants may be able to demonstrate their potential to succeed in an MBA classroom without the GMAT.

All applications with fewer than 7 years of professional experience are required to submit GMAT scores.

Students with 7 – 10 years of professional experience may be eligible for a GMAT waiver if:

  • Applicant graduated with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher at an accredited institution.
  • Professional experience demonstrates growth.

Students with 10+ years of professional experience may be eligible for a GMAT waiver if:

  • Applicant graduated from an accredited institution.
  • Professional experience demonstrates growth.

Candidates who have a terminal degree (JD, MD, PhD, etc.) are not required to take the GMAT regardless of their years of work experience.

All GMAT waivers will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

To be considered for a GMAT waiver candidates must start an application here and complete the following:

In the Academic History portion of the application – upload copies of official or unofficial transcripts from every college and university you have attended.

In the Work History portion of the application – upload a copy of your resume.

  • We recommend highlighting job responsibilities that show your quantitative skills.
  • Also include any professional certifications with a quantitative focus (e.g. Six Sigma, CFA, CPA).

Once this has been completed please email GMATWaiver@temple.edu and let us know that the GMAT waiver requirements have been met.  We will do our best to review all requests within 7-10 business days.
