Neeraj Bharadwaj doesn’t view teaching solely as a “one-way street” where a professor simply conveys information to students. Sometimes, he says, the professor can learn as much as the students.
A member of the Fox School faculty since 2008, Dr. Bharadwaj’s research is often inspired by contemporary challenges that managers face in their everyday work environment. Research projects have included investigating how marketing initiatives can affect firm financial performance; examining how a firm’s sustainability initiatives can affect the appraisals of key constituencies; and assessing how firm-level strategies can affect performance and customer loyalty. His research has appeared in such publications as the Journal of Marketing, International Journal of Research in Marketing, Journal of Retailing, Journal of Product Innovation Management, and Marketing Letters. He currently serves as a reviewer for several leading academic journals and is a member of the Journal of Business-to-Business Marketing’s editorial review board.
Dr. Bharadwaj has also been widely recognized for his teaching, including being chosen as 2009-10 Executive MBA (Cali, Colombia) Faculty of the Year and 2008-09 Full-time MBA Faculty of the Year.
In recognition of his research, Dr. Bharadwaj received the Fox School Marketing Department’s 2008-09 Research Excellence Award and was named a finalist for the 2008 Harold H. Maynard Award by the Journal of Marketing editorial board. Dr. Bharadwaj has also been widely recognized for his teaching, including being chosen as the Fox School’s 2008-09 Full-time MBA Faculty of the Year and receiving the Fox School’s 2009 Crystal Teaching Award.
Dr. Bharadwaj has worked in product and price management at Miller Brewing Company, and as a consultant for senior corporate clients and leading government officials. Dr. Bharadwaj earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater and his MBA and doctoral degrees from the University of Wisconsin – Madison.
