Fox Honors Students Create New SPO For Major
Fox Honors students Jonathan Huynh and Rahul Nimmagadda worked with the national chapter of the American Statistical Association to create TU AmStat, an accredited, local chapter. This new Student Professional Organization (SPO) now collaborates with the Statistical Science & Data Analytics major that Fox began offering this past fall.
The goal of AmStat is to further Temple students’ exposure to opportunities and insights within the many fields of statistical science. They do so through speaker meetings, graduate student panels, prospective employer meetings, and participating in statistically rooted competitions. More information about the SPO and major can be found through their website: http://tuamstat.com/.

This fall, the program welcomed a record freshman class. Amazingly both our class size and SAT average were all-time highs for the program. In addition to recruiting incredibly talented students from Pennsylvania, we also welcomed students from New Jersey, Florida, Delaware, Oregon, New Hampshire, Connecticut, South Carolina, Massachusetts, Illinois, Tennessee, California, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, and Washington! In addition, we had contingent of students joining us from Vietnam, Bangladesh, and Peru!
