The Department of Statistics, which is located in the University’s Fox School of Business and Management, has 15 full-time graduate faculty members and about forty graduate students in its Master’s and Ph.D. programs.
With the new Master of Science in Business Analytics from the Fox School of Business, you’ll enhance your skills through a focus on interpretation, explanation, and deep knowledge of practical approaches to data analytics—so you outshine the competition.
Using a market-driven curriculum that links financial outcomes and profit-driven decisions, the Fox Business Analytics program will prepare you to model your ideal career in analytics. Explore data visualization, the fundamental concepts of data analysis and effective information communication, data mining and “big data”, methods for cleaning data, and strategic knowledge management in courses led by the Fox School’s world-renowned faculty. The Fox School of Business offers a four-course, 12-credit graduate certificate option for professionals interested in expanding their knowledge without committing to the pursuit of a master’s degree. Students who successfully complete this graduate certificate may matriculate into the Business Analytics master’s program at a later date with credit for their certificate coursework. The Master of Science in Business Analytics offers a unique, “spiral” curriculum designed especially for the program. After completing the six required foundational courses, students may choose one of two electives based on their interests, and may choose to further specialize through industry “branches” that include marketing, accounting, healthcare, management information systems, and human resource management. All students complete the experiential capstone course, with opportunities to work with real-world data and organizations through Enterprise Management Consulting projects.
