Department of Statistical Science

The Department of Statistics, which is located in the University’s Fox School of Business and Management, has 15 full-time graduate faculty members and about forty graduate students in its Master’s and Ph.D. programs.


Lunch and Learn

Friday, September 23, 2016, The Department of Statistical Science at Temple University hosted a Workshop ‘Lunch and Learn” presenting the new degree: a Bachelor of Science in Statistical Science and Data Analytics. Organized by Alexandra D. Carides, Director, Statistics Undergraduate Programs the event was also attended by Dean Debbie Campbell, Drs Sanat Sarkar and Pallavi Chitturi, as well as by Julian White, Camille Fallon, and Jennifer VanDeWoestyne , from the Academic Advisers Office.

About 40 students participated, all eager to learn more about this new opportunity and consider adding the degree to their academic plan.

Dean Campbell welcomed everyone and presented highlights of the development of this program. Drs. Carides, Chitturi and Sarkar discussed details about the new Major degree, while the group of Academic Advisers oriented students about the technical issues regarding the declaration of the degree on the students’ academic plan.

Everyone was involved in a lively questions and answers session before ending the event.
