Minors in Marketing

Marketing Minor (General)

The Department of Marketing and Supply Chain Management offers a minor to Fox School of Business students. This minor offers business students an emphasis on customer acquisition, development, and retention processes, as well as retail and supply chain management.

Interested students should discuss with their advisors how the courses in the minor will fit with their overall degree plans, ensuring that all program requirements and prerequisites are met. Students must maintain a grade point average of 2.0 in the minor is required as well as a minimum grade of C in each course (including Marketing 2101). Students must speak to the chair of the Department of Marketing and Supply Chain Management to declare or rescind this minor.

Digital Marketing Minor

The Digital Marketing Minor is jointly administered by MSCM and the Department of Management Information Systems. This minor is open to all Fox School of Business students, particularly students majoring in Marketing, Management Information Systems, Human Resource Management, and Business Management. This minor integrates marketing with digital technology and analytics and prepares students for new and emerging jobs related to analytics, blogging, search engine optimization, e-detailing, site design, Internet research, digital demographics, personalization, customer relationship management, information architecture, social media, e-commerce, and media design

Interested students should discuss with their advisors how the courses in the minor will fit with their overall degree plans, ensuring that all program requirements and prerequisites are met. Because of the quantitative research, critical thinking, and problem solving skills required for success in this minor, a cumulative GPA of 3.0 is recommended.

Students taking the minor must maintain a GPA of 2.0 in the minor is required as well as a minimum grade of C- in each course. Students must speak to the Program Director to declare or rescind this minor.

Below is a list of required courses for the Digital Marketing Minor. Marketing majors may not count MKTG 3507 or 3508 for both the major and minor. Marketing majors pursuing a Digital Marketing Minor must take different Marketing courses as electives towards their majors. A supervised corporate internship is optional. Students approved for this option will register for MIS 3581 as a sixth course.
