About the Program

In 2016, Fox accounting majors, under the direction of Dr. Steven Balsam, prepared tax returns for 422 clients at the Ambler Campus. More than $433,000 in tax refunds were issued by the IRS to the local community. Fox Accounting alumni and faculty members also supported the VITA effort.  Visit YouTube to view our VITA video which includes client and student volunteer comments.

Schedule an Appointment

We will open for scheduling appointments in January 2017. If you are a potential client interested in receiving assistance with filing your taxes, please check our calendar and schedule an appointment.

Students that volunteer with the VITA program find the experience extremely fulfilling. While you help thousands of local low-income families ensure they receive the full returns to which they are entitled, you will also learn practical skills and gain real-world insight into the United States tax system.

It is highly recommended but not required that volunteer students request to receive course credit for completion of the VITA volunteer work through registration of ACCT 3581, section 101 during the spring semester.

For more volunteer information and registration for course credit, please visit the Volunteer Information page.
