All CPA candidates must pass the Uniform CPA Examination to qualify for a CPA certificate and license (i.e., permit to practice) to practice public accounting. Although the exam is the same no matter where it is taken, every state/jurisdiction has its own set of education and experience requirements that individuals must meet to become a licensed CPA in that state.
Individuals planning to take the CPA Exam are strongly encouraged to review the CPA Exam FAQ and CPA Exam and Related Requirements. If you are an accounting major and are graduating in the next semester, visit the steps in applying to sit for the Pennsylvania CPA Exam.
