Distance Learning Classroom

The three 6th floor classrooms are unlike any other classrooms in Alter Hall because they can be used as venues for distance learning. With small AV control rooms at the rear of each room, a technician can record a class for transmission within the building or around the world. These rooms, as well as those on the 7th floor, also sport maple wood surfaces common on many graduate business campuses. Otherwise, these rooms are fairly typical of the classrooms throughout Alter Hall with traditional “case study” seat arrangement common to business and medical schools. Seats in all Alter classrooms swivel 360 degrees to facilitate collaboration. Technology includes a touch screen monitor, ambient microphones, an AMX control panel, motion sensors, and cameras in the rear of the classroom. The custom designed podium also adjusts with the touch of a button to accommodate different presenter heights and persons in wheelchairs.
